The number of oocytes with normal spindles in group 1 (81.0%) was not significantly different from control groups 3 (83.8%) and 4 (88.9%), while the number of group 2 oocytes with normal structures (43.5%) was significantly lower than groups 1 ( P = 0.0004), 3 ( P = 0.0002), and 4 ( P = 0.025). In all, 58% of the oocytes in group 2 survived the thaw. Following cryopreservation, group 1 oocytes demonstrated a 63% survival rate and 68% maturation rate in vitro. Chromosomes were counterstained with 4‘, 6’-diamidino-2-phenylindole. Salcedo, 2019 WL 4050424, at *7. Instead, the Court concluded, "Salcedo's allegations of a brief, inconsequential annoyance are categorically distinct….The chirp, buzz, or blink of a cell phone receiving a single text message is more akin to walking down a busy sidewalk and having a flyer briefly waved in one's face. Although dicta, the Court also noted that a receipt of a single text did not amount to a telephone call that shatters domestic peace. The Court ultimately concludes that Salcedo's allegations of wasted time and intrusion on seclusion are insufficient to demonstrate a true, concrete "injury in fact." The Court found a text message distinct from a fax receipt of a junk fax based upon the fact that while a facsimile machine would be inoperable while the fax was being received, there was no such limitation on a text. In reaching its decision that Salcedo does not have standing to bring this action, the Eleventh Circuit takes a stroll through history – namely the history of the TCPA, how Article III standing is defined, its own precedent, the intent of Congress, and the history of how these elements have been treated together. He filed suit seeking statutory damages and to have himself named as a putative class representative, alleging that the text caused him harm by wasting his time and intruding upon his seclusion. ![]() ![]() ![]() Lacking in Character The game breaks the story into chapters, letting you pick up wherever you want from the first moment you turn it on.Īdd on to this the fact that you are playing as a Falconeer, riders of massive warbirds who protect small island civilizations throughout the world, and the disconnect got even worse. And since the character is a silent protagonist I honestly don’t even remember seeing the character portrait again after I chose it. The classes just tweaked a few of the background stats that my bird started with, but not in a way that felt significant. I was excited that they had me picking a character class and portrait, thinking that’d help pull me back in, but those decisions didn’t seem to do much of anything. In any case, that’s at least one too many guys for me to keep track of. I’m just a guy playing as another guy in the future who is flashing back to a different guy who is in the past of that guy but still in my guy’s future. I do believe the player is looking back at the game’s flooded, post-apocalyptic world from a vantage point further on, but it left me not really caring about my character. Right away, this made me feel weirdly disconnected from the story. At the start of the game (and each time you die), some sort of mystic greets you with a small snippet of narration that seems to be suggesting that you, as the player, are reliving the life of someone from ages ago, Assassin’s Creed style. The story of The Falconeer has been really tough for me to latch on to. Water World x Panzer Dragoon At this point I don’t know who this character is, but I sure would like to. But adding them together…the complete package just doesn’t quite work for me. ![]() There are a ton of things about this game that I absolutely love. On paper, The Falconeer: Warrior Edition feels like it should be a game that I’d love. I’ve tried a lot of flight-based games since then, but none of them have really captured my attention in quite the same way. So saving the Lylatt system that day was one of the first times I got that absorbed into a game all on my own. Most of those were playing Goldeneye or Super Smash Bros. I’d had plenty of days spent with a controller in hand. Gaming marathons weren’t a new thing for me. To pass the time, I brought in my Nintendo 64 with my copy of Star Fox 64. Thankfully, there was a TV in the office. We were leaving straight from there on a road trip, so I had to occupy myself all day long while he worked. For now, I can continue to use Aperture, though future upgrades to OS X might put an end to that. With an Aperture library of over 130GB, it was decision time. A month prior to writing this article, Aperture was removed from the Mac App Store. In June 2014, the official word came down from Cupertino: Aperture would no longer be updated. The software got updates here and there, but at some point users got a sense that Apple was losing interest in their product. On the right you'll see a photo of some people without a lot of common sense.Īs with iPhoto before it, I had many pleasant years of using Aperture. While not as robust as Lightroom, they did the job for me. On the left side are the numerous adjustment tools in Aperture 3. I found Lightroom's UI and workflow to a bit too different, so I chose the comfortable option and went with Aperture. Aperture felt familiar to me, like a grown-up version of the iPhoto. Given that, and my growing interest in shooting Raw, it was time to look for something else.Īt the time there were really two choices: Apple's own Aperture 3 software and Adobe Lightroom, which I believe was also at version 3 at that time. Getting prints and making photo books (the perfect gift for your parents) was ridiculously easy.Īfter years of relative bliss, iPhoto '11 came around and had a slick new interface, but several features from previous versions were gone, and the whole thing was just. iPhoto had a friendly interface and made splitting photos into events easy.
